At 8 pm 25th inst Const Byron 91B & Const Farrell 142 A brought to Kilmainham Stn John Gerald Coogan 23 years, clerk 194 Rathgar Road for what he did bet. 12pm 24th inst. at Cromwell’s Quarter James’s St with another man unknown. Held up Const. Meegan 137A with a rifle & fixed bayonet, with which he gave the Const. a prod, not injuring him. Coogan was pointed out to the above Const by James Murphy 2 Burkes Cottages James’s St at Island Bridge and when at the station the Const identified him from amongst several others of his own class, when he admitted being at the place mentioned at the said date.

He had no arms when arrested
