County Inspector Howth thro’ Officer Commanding Howth Detachment
I beg to report that the Sinn Feiner’s have seized the Port Office at Swords as before reported broke in Police Barracks at Swords and took all the arms and ammunition the preceding day to Lusk. I hear they intend taking possession of Post Offices in the County today as the Bridge lies at the mercy of such a large force of Sinn Feiners he requests a large force of Military for its protection. I hear just now that there has been a bugle heard at Yellow Walls.
Substance of report from CI Howth, Telephoned by the Commandant RIC Depot to Co. Inspector Holmes 26 4 16
Information received from a cyclist that Malahide RIC Barracks is in the hands of the Sinn Feiners.
