“Wire received. Was in Gort today. Things quiet. Sinn Feiners restless, and evidently wish to attack Gort. Force there over 100 men and two Officers. Carron Bridge and Kilcolgan holding out. Priest in Co. Galway (?) informed police that German submarines were to lay mines on West coast. Queenstown informed.”
