Police force at Ashbourne cross roads 15 miles from Dublin in Navan road are surrounded by rebels who are pressing them hard. CI Gray has sent urgent message for help to Drogheda Insp OC Nooks has been instructed not to move his men from there and RIC men cannot leave as urgently required
This was telephoned at once on receipt to the RIC Depot, and was also at once communicated to the Garrison Adjutant here- to inform the GOC.
