Telephone message received from the R.I.C. Depot at 11.40am on 28/4/16.
Message from County Inspector Flower, Dublin, to the Commandant, RIC Depot. It runs-
As far as I can hear this morning the County Dublin is quiet- North and South. I am sure about the South of the county but find it hard to get communication with the North of the County. There are now military at Balbriggan and Skerries. Thery. Bridge at Malahide is guarded by police. I have scouts out in every direction. Three tons of flour arrived at Howth this morning by rail. It is not nearly enough. The shops are besieged with people. Telephone cut off.
