From Brigadier General Blackader 59th Divison To Chief Supt

I am forming a cordon from Ballsbridge to Merrion to prevent rebels passing in and out of Dublin City. I have been instructed to ask for the co-operation of the police to identify harmless individuals and to arrest known Rebels.

I shall be glad if you can let me have a force if possible of 50 Constables from the Merrion District. They should report to Brigadier Blackader at Pembroke Town Hall from 59th Division 7.30pm There men are wanted at once.

The Citizens army are still in possession of Jacobs and they have hoisted the Republican flag for the past hour from the highest tower of the building and they state the truce is only until Monday and that they will not surrender but will start fighting again on Monday when the truce is over.

Mr O’Shaughnessy 1 Mountain View Longs Place Canal Bank called to Newmarket Station at 8.30am this morning and stated that 12 soldiers took possession of his place on Friday 28th inst, they left a rifle and kit there and he wishes to inform military authorities.
